This sectional model was developed as both a design tool and presentation object, and was later selected for the museum’s collection at opening. Combining digital modeling, powder-printing technology, and detailed hand craftsmanship, the model is mounted on rails so the two halves can slide apart and reveal the interior spaces.

The fabrication process felt almost archaeological: the model was carefully excavated from loose printer powder, depowdered, reinforced, then refined through layers of spackle, bonding, sanding, and finishing. The work was developed while on the fabrication team at Morphosis.
